With so many dining room light fixtures on the market it is not hard to find one that is both suitable and affordable. Here are a few that are particularly unique and quite alluring. These are not necessarily suitable for every single home but they are stylish and beautiful in their own right.
IQ Light
The IQ Light, also known as the Retro Pendant Shade, was designed back in the ’70s by Danish designer Holger Strom. It is called ‘IQ’ because the shade is composed of ‘interlocking quadrilaterals’ made of pliable plastic. This lamp comes in pieces and must be assembled, but it actually looks like it would be fun to put together. The shade is very lightweight and would probably look good in a small apartment or condominium dining room as it is decorative but not overly ornate or ostentatious. Kaub 5-Light Polished Steel Ceiling Fixture
When I first saw this light I thought I was some kind of funky Christmas decoration, but no, it is actually a colorful light fixture intended for year-round use. It consists of a polished steel freeform pole and five lights with glass shades that come in various colors. This light fixture is classy and stylish but also quite simple in design. It is an excellent example of a simple, contemporary dining room light and would look good hanging above a glass top dining table with metal chairs. It is casual yet tasteful and retails for a bit over $140.
ET2 Lighting 8-Light Passion Chandelier
This light features old-school drum-style shades that are accentuated with wire frames. The body is satin nickel-finished and has a clean modern design. This light also comes in a three-light style and you can choose between black, white or red shades. The eight-light version retails for $579.
Brilliano White Wide Ceiling Light Fixture
Whoa! What is that, some kind of jellyfish? No, it’s actually a contemporary flush mount light fixture that is cool and stylish without being too ornate. This particular fixture is made using clear crystals and a pleated white fabric. It holds a two hundred watt light bulb and will provide enough light for any small or medium-sized room. This one is ideal for a modern-style dining room that is meant to have an air of elegance and class, without being too stuffy. It’s a bit pricier than some of the others on the list at around $1,500.
Schonbek Rivendell Twelve Light Pendant
This elegant dining room pendant light is a true masterpiece. It comes in several colors and is made using Swarovski or Strass clear crystals. It looks almost like a small bush of flowers that has been touched by a light snow. This fixture makes an excellent centerpiece for an elegant and traditional dining room with a high ceiling. The only downside to this particular light fixture is the price tag. It retails for around $5,500.
